so here's the thing - would you rather

1. gs ops
2. abit more FO role in less prestigious bank (e.g. MUFG corporate banking)

that's true. gs ops have been heavily criticised but don't see that kind of hate for other BB ops

Curious to know about this too, would appreciate if others can provide insights. Strictly from a BB ops perspective, doesn't GS have best pay & progression?

No. 2 can jump to other FO roles in the future.

Only way no. 1 is worth is if it's a tech role...

i think a better question would be:

1. gs ops
2. abit more useful role in less prestigious bank (e.g. MUFG risk/compliance)

still option 2 because while risk/compliance does not generate revenue, they sit much closer to FO and make it much easier to make that jump in the future.

No need to mention about FO role where there are far too few guys. Just working effectively as a mo/bo guy for a few years in any of the BB bank would enable one to be in a position to afford down payment for a condo unit in a decent area. IF a spouse earns a reasonable salary, together both can afford a small unit in districts 9,10 11. That's how far the BB banks can offer to promising young grads!

If no then that’s how local bank FO compare to Bb FO

Rather be the underdog of a BB than some local bank “elite”

Heard a lot of DBS FO people went to foreign bank FO
