That's quite good actually. When I went to DeutschBank they were only prepared to offer maximum 8k but their quarterly incentive I heard most of the time is ~30k every quarter, so all in bonus can easily exceed 120k in a year.

Foreign banks are really better, OCBC management associate program only offer $7000+ a month and bonus is only 6-7 months =(

MUFJ still the best associate program so far - 8.5k base + 3k various allowances, but I heard the bonus target quite hard to meet

Default query on ma prog

Dunno if we are comparing apples to apples here... think the ocbc ma prog is only for mba / masters students w past work exp. the deutsche bank and dbs ma prog are for fresh graduates I think. And I heard dbs ma is only $4k not $7.5k. Ocbc is $7k plus but only for mba/masters students with prior work exp. Not sure about mufg which is not known as a good pay master in general, so am very skeptical actually.

Yep, thought I'd share cos there's a lot of misinformation in these forums. Does not help anyone make an informed decision. Why should HR have all the info?

And one well kept secret that local bank ma prog candidates need to know about is that there's a fairly large salary range and needs to be negotiated. For foreign banks, everyone in the same analyst or associate prog tends to be paid the same ($4 to 5k for ma, $8 to 10k for analyst, $10 to 12k+ for associate).

But a well placed friend of mine told me that ocbc's (for eg) ma prog salary range can be from below $4k to above $7k - for the same batch! It's amazing to me - what the heck can HR be thinking with a penny wise pound foolish approach like that?

Anyways, my point is - do go in with your eyes open...

I heard UOB MA is around 3.5k, DBS MA should be around 4k.. OCBC i dunno..

So dunno where u guys get ur figures.. maybe inflation?

Foreign banks can pay very well I know.. but paying a fresh grad 8-10k is a big gamble in my opinion. Unless really good and can hit bonus, otherwise within a year cannot make it, I want the person OUT.

I work in Jap bank before - no chance for MA prog to be paid like that. I know their pay structure.. worst/comparable to local banks..

Unless i am really missing something here.

Like I said, DBS is about $4k and ocbc is up to $7k plus, but ocbc is not for fresh grads...

For foreign banks that pay $8 - 10k, its very very few positions and the folks that get in tend to be all everything ... Places like GIC also pay similar.

Any figure that I've quoted are all real and either from personal experience or from someone I know directly (ie no 3rd party hearsay). Took me forever to garner accurate data, and tot I'd save everyone the work, so that whatever decision u make, it's an informed one...
