Does "additional base" mean bonus? Or do the figures include bonuses?

Salary/ bonus structure in Barcap is complicated now

I was told Barcap is saving on bonuses and salary increment, so base+addtl.base+car allowance make up your cash compensation, but bonus and salary increment only counted against base only.
Hmm... so 180k is at lower limit and if what I heard is true that bonus is only 1 month, this is not good.
When I move to other bank, will adjustment is counted against whole cash compensation or just the base portion?

Shift work
Hi all,
I'm currently working in a small bank doing shift hours and getting a fixed allowance on top of my basic every mth.
Can anyone advise if i were to change job, would the next employer take my fixed allowance into consideration if it were for a day job instead?
Eg. current salary 3k + 1k fixed allowance = 4k/mth
Would the new employer consider my last drawn pay as 3k only or 4k? since my allowance is fixed every mth. Note the new job is a day job (day hours, not shift)
Thanks for all advice and input.

To a very large extent the pay depends on whether you are front office or back office, i.e. whether you are generating revenue for the bank or consuming revenue. Those who are not generating revenue are obviously paid much less than SUCCESSFUL front office bankers. No bank is so dumb to pay unsuccessful bankers tens of thousands every month.

It depends on how you play the politics. There some people who continually make losses, but still survive and survive well.
