For fresh grads, your salary range is $3,450-$4,550. Because your degree is from SUSS, you will probably get around $3700+ after NS. Local universities will get around $4,200 depending on their honours (provided they served their NS).

Fire & Rescue Officer
Hi ,
Anyone who recently applied for the Fire and Rescue officer (Direct-Entry Lieutenant), can share your timeline? How long does each stage take before they notify you the result (esp the preliminary interview and panel interview)? Can share your experience ? Thank you.

I doubt govt discriminates against SUSS.
Even back in 2005 when I joined a GLC as a freshie, my first class hons from UOL gave me a higher starting salary than my batch mate with an NUS second lower with 1 year working experience..
I'm sure we have progressed much more since 2005.

I can give u some info about working becuz I was firefighters in ns
U go through 9 month training so make sure ur fitness is there first or u will have tough time. After post out to station you will be in charge of the whole firestation. Daily tasks make sure the firestation operating properly. All equipment working and some paperwork. U get to attend different types of call like car crash or small fires. Two days on two days off.
If u don't like station life u can be posted to HQ where in charge of training or more admin side stuff.
Pay is good because of the many risk allowances. 4.5k+
Think carefully before comitting because it's a big big commitment

Hi, thank you for sharing to aspiring officers. How is the pay progression over the years? Any annual increment?
