It helps.
In my selection, the CV with photos have first priority over the ones without photos, as I deem those without photos as incomplete.
I like to deal with people whom I can visualize and the photos on these CVs are the first contact and impression I have of the candidates. I do not select on looks but frankly speaking, I tend to give more time scrutinizing the CV of more presentable candidates.
So those without photos, are relegated to the bottom of the barrel.

i personally put a photo.. for convinience sake, there are job adverts that ask for resume with recent photo.. so why not just put.. unless u dun feel confidence abt ur look
and reading some of the replies from hr perspective, seems putting a photo increases the chance of being called up..

i honestly think it doesnt matter with or without photo.
it is not a necessary requirement. however, should u wan to put a photo, put one that is professionally taken.

In asia (incl SG), its quite acceptable to put your photo on your CV. But its a big nono overseas.
If they ask for it, just include it.

just don't put if you are not asked to. I do not think that looking good means you stand a better chance. Sometimes this could work against you.

I applied to several banks. Not a single reply despite a decent CV. My CV picture is professional looking but shows me slightly plump and not good looking.
A class mate with lousier grades gets calls from the same banks. Out of frustration, I re-phrased my CV details and this time included a good looking photo of one of my friends. I got 6/10 of my applications had replies.
Of course I dare not go for the interview as they will realise my real looks are different from my CV photos. Btw, from those reply emails which indicate my interviewer names, all of them are males!

imo, putting a photo in your CV doesnt really help.
if you are not good looking, putting your photo in your CV will definitely reduce the interviewer's inclination to call you for an interview.
if you are good looking, if your interviewer is of the same gender as you, more often than not, it works against you eg a highly attractive female applicant may be passed over by a jealous female HR officer. not sure if this applies to males, imo guys are less likely to be so petty LOL ( im a girl btw)

Go to Korea for plastic surgery.
Looks do matter, regardless of what your teachers or parents tell you. It's a fact of life. If you walk into any MNC or big bank, the higher-paid jobs are almost always helmed by good looking people.
Sad but true. Shallow but it's real.
This is the good thing about an anonymous discussion forum, where non-politically correct things can be freely discussed.

so next time when people post their wealth and income in this forum, they should also state whether they're good looking, average, or ugly?
