What is it like working in a Recruitment Agency?

Anyone have experience in recruitment agency? how is the pay/comms/incentive like? are the targets set acheiveable ?

I'm considering giving this industry a shot, would appreciate any advice :)

I’ve worked in recruitment for 5 years...

Recruitment job is NOT EASY. You are literally the middle person between the candidate and client. You need to know the candidate’s mind game and client’s perspective to make sure you are able to close the job. And that’s not the end, you need to continue to make sure the fellow don’t quit the job after 3-6months else you may not get your Comm.

On the flip side, it’s an exciting job! I work with many good Financial services clients - can be very nice to work with at times and give you good jobs to work. And often can earn a lot of commission.

My average salary per month was 10k including comms when I was a consultant.
But it’s a competitive market after all. So you need to pick your market right. Go in and do tech recruitment is the best choice.

I am interested. May I know how you started, and if there is any requirement?

Thanks!
