How is HTX Associate Programme like?

Soon to be fresh grad here. Saw HTX at the career fair. Heard it is like DSTA but new organization. Parked under MHA.

Anyone has experience with the work culture and salary at HTX?

HTX Associate Program

Sounds chui, perhaps 3.5k starting

Unregistered 21-02-2021 08:40 PM

So chui... Might as well go dsta

Unregistered 23-02-2021 02:01 PM

Anyone have any ideas what is the pay grade system in HTX?

Does DSTA HR pay well?

Unregistered 18-04-2021 10:18 AM

Anyone know what's the scheme they using?

MX?

Unregistered 20-04-2021 06:28 PM

Pay is same as DSTA ($4.6k for women, $5k for men).

Unregistered 17-08-2021 05:35 PM

bump~ any new comments regarding HTX in general? are the tech skills like AI, data science, software eng, robotics transferrable? starting salary still 5k?

Think they are using scheme called "XT" e.g XT4, XT5, XT6 etc

Unregistered 21-08-2021 02:01 PM

Avoid if you want to be an individual contributor

Skills are not transferable
A lot of staff work especially associates
Most of the technical work is outsourced
Managers are non technical so if you want to code, let alone learn design patterns etc it's like working in an SME or worse
Have heard much better things about GovTech, certain parts of DSTA

Unregistered 24-08-2021 09:59 AM

1) How is the HTX Associate Programme interview like?

2) Anyone knows if they are open to graduates looking to go into project/product management?

Unregistered 24-08-2021 10:47 AM

HTX is the same thing as DSTA, MHA's version but less established. Same problems, just in a different form.

Join if you ok being a paper pusher and no other options in the crappy job market now. But long term career, highly not advisable.

I thought HTX has a division similar to DSO where there is more hands on engineering

Unregistered 25-08-2021 08:04 AM

Everyone at tech companies code
No one calls it "hands on engineering" except anyone who hasn't done enough of it to be hired elsewhere

HTX isnt a tech company

Unregistered 25-08-2021 04:22 PM

Have never heard anyone who's ever shipped anything call it "hands on engineering"

Red flag lol

Heard starting pay can be 500 - 1k different. Is that true? How come GovTech can pay so much better when all are stats board

They need to pay more to compete with the private sector

Unregistered 26-09-2021 09:35 AM

How is it like between DSTA and HTX?

Im guessing DSTA is more established so would be somewhat more stable, but HTX is still new and growing, so maybe theres some more opportunities.

Paywise, it should also be similar for engineering/tech related roles?

How is the working culture in DSTA/HTX?

Sure booohh.. if so good, there wont be govtech wanting to go HTX.. HTX u are fronting with bosses who are uniformed officers, so more rigid, regimental cos uniform mah.. govtech civilian bosses, can be more relax... But pay wise HTX and govtech think almost on par..

There are people moving from govtech to htx? Perhaps due to rare circumstances. Typically the net movement is from lower tier agencies like dsta/htx to govtech.

Unregistered 29-09-2021 12:27 AM

Come join HTX and find out. I can't speak for GovTech but I've worked with DSTA before and the working relationship between DSTA and MINDEF is that of a customer and vendor. Whereas for HTX, it's more of a brother and sister relationship with the different uniform departments.

Anyone know the approximate salary range for HTC engineer? The HR is asking for my expected and I'm. Thinking of how much to fill up which does not seems unreasonable.
