Ya lor, nobody cares about FCH in NUS! If GPA>=4.5, we still need take FYP as a requirement to get the FCH. Thats why many of us just use our gpa to get ourselves intern opportunities. We all start as early as y2.

For NTU, heard fyp mandatory but requirements for FCH is grade A- for FYP & gpa 4.5 and above

People here must accept that NUS can fetch a hire salary because they have aptitude.

They are competent.

Median already $5k
Source: s://digitalsenior.sg/nus-graduate-employment-survey-ges/

So half of the people get more than 5k as fresh grad... nth special, its a norm now.

People need to catch up with the times..

If you can deliver ur work and got retrenched, then at the same time keep butthurting and being salty at COMPETENTfresh grads getting paid 5k and above... you only got urself to blame cause u have no aptitude..

Yeah I remember this one fresh grad we used to hire. He claimed he's underpaid by Google standard...

So his work very ugly. Lots of bugs. Not intituitive. Almost no ux design at all.
My boss got mad one meeting hearing to his excuse.

He said. "OK we increase your pay by 2k#
He also said." we expect this project to be ready next Monday, if not we have to let you go"

In the end he was fired. Cause no matter how much more money we give him
He simply doesn't have jt

Then we have another case of a Vietnamese foreign. Just come work code code. Very easy to work with.
Can see result. Got bug he fix... Boss give him high bonus to conpenstate for his performance...
He stayed for 3 years. Then left to amazon to work on some e commerce project.

Takes skills in tech to survive in tech.
Not paper degree.

Haha this story just sounds like that guy who got retrenched in the earlier post. Just sounds like him malding again...

If you think logically, the boss is already planning to fire that person before even giving the pay rise... why? Because poor performance on daily basis... just think about it...

Obviously if you have the aptitude you should be paid more.
But also obviously if you are paid more but can't deliver you need to be Terminated so the next fake person in line can try to fake it.

This is why tech job mostly are contracts. Its because of too many fake tech people.
All end up as consultant/project manager... So there is a lack of programmer.

So now with the boom of tech graduate... But still no one want to do the dirty tedious coding code.

All just want to be the tech lead high paid to solve some algorithm problem...
What we need is an app that can bring customer to our product ASAP.

Not some hackathon algorithm data machine learning nonsense.

End up most job outsource to India or Vietnam.
Then boss say can't control quality.
So we hire an Indian or Vietnam employment pass. Higher pay to them bit cheaper option to company. Since local uni student demands so much but can't deliver.

Then employment pass become min 4.5k.

It's a lose lose situation.
