no skills but earn enough to support family, to ensure ur future kids can have good life, or for urself to retire comfortably enough le... not everything have to be taken to extremes

My colleague like to use body building as an analogy to describe tech world.
Alot of good demand are for model with already nice body.
To get nice body you need to train your body actively and the result will take years to build. Through train f diet etc.

Fresh grad are like body builder wannabe they lift some weight in gym and can feel the soreness and they demand to be professional body builder.

Seniors are like you can't get to my level with speed. It takes time dedication and effort to get to my body level.

Then there are those seniors already give up let their body go flabby. And those kind still want to give body building advice etc.

Then there are those fresh grad whose body already so nice.. Better than average humble and find their niche like Instagram or or etc...

But at the end of the day it's very obvious whose body are nice. Whose body are not nice.
Even those with good body... Some have great personality. Some are popular in Instagram some are not.

Some are model only showcase their body..
Some are fitness trainer help others to build their body.
Some are professional body builder win championship get the big bucks endorsement.

Simply alot of fresh grad have just average body. Looks fit.
But lack the mass etc.
And they think by putting in more time at the gym, over the weekend. Damage their body... Will help make them bigger and bulkier faster.

It just doesn't...
Those people paying high pay are looking for young fresh talent with a nice body already.
So unless you have a nice body and willing to keep training at it to get better...

You will eventually get fat and leave the industry.
That is the tech world... Cause if you are in it for the money and not the body...

There are better way or making money than to train like mad in gym, diet, keto, calorie count....

Yes balance is important.
When you're old and aging dyinf on hospital bed, you won't be thinking "I wished I worked longer hours.."
You'll most likely wished you have more time to spend with your love ones

I have my own office. I just check email. Read some tech updates. Liaise with customer. Discuss potential project. I have nicer title than you

I am fascinated that your life doesn't include back-to-back meetings throughout the day like every AD. Or your company hierarchy just cmi? Or you just cmi they want to exclude you out of meeting? Hmmm
