While the true knowledge is not taught in school.

Just like school don't teach fresh grad "please lunch with your boss"
All fresh grad all lunch with themselves.. Those who lunch with their boss get promoted. Those who don't. Doesn't..

Simple things school don't teach.
School teach. Rush meet deadline. To get better grade must do more.

Real world. Delegate to ppl. If it doesn't work, let the blame be on the developer. Affect the developer kpi performance. If it works, take credit its because of my management style that this project can deliver.

Fresh grad don't know all this skills.
Only know how to debate and argue in meeting with your seniors

Seniors know to just shut up. Don't argue with your boss.
Then during lunch slowly try to make the boss see your reason.
Use your management skills to manage your boss.

Oh wait fresh grad don't have those skills.
Just know how to "i get 4.5 GPA I don't socialise, I get 10k per month in tech giant. I retire"

This kind of fresh grad are usually the kind that doesn't succeed in life while his 2nd lower classmates who thrive at being average get promoted because he is more human. More approachable. And by extension more professional.

Why? You want a job? Im not looking for fresh grad developer. Only seniors.

But Im looking for a social media manager. A fresh grad sounds suitable for this job since all they spend in onlkne and on their phone...

Keep living in anxiety while sending out hundreds of applications for a 4k sweatshop SME role (retrenched LUL) while I have fun at my 10k++/month new grad role.

Assistant director.
You are just a software slave. Maybe you are just a bit better than IT support.
My mind is so carefree. Relax.

Good career. Can learn. Can interact with customer. Bonus also good.
While you slave away day in day out, weekend... Reading code. Over and over again. Chasing never endinf dead line.

I leave at 530pm and drive home to play with my kids in my bungalow.
While you stay in office, pizza and coffee for dinner again. Slaving away to invent the next big tech.

Enjoy your fantasy while i live in my real life.

Only fresh grad will think LinkedIn is the door to networking. Typical.

I have business connection and networking friend. The classmates I attend with in nus master 2006 is one of the director in govtech. I have a ntu classmate who is ncs director peers.

I have connection with a few Microsoft mvp, I have worked with them. Consultant work. Give talk with them. I know their calibre and skills will always go for Microsoft mvp over some no name fresh grad

Over the 20 years I also have worked with all kind of cannot make it developers. Soke escaped and became director level. A few in singtel. A few in Accenture. Some totally disappeared no idea are they still in tech.

Know a few in IBM. No contact with Accenture cause cannot stand the Indians..
My professor is the director of one animation studio in Singapore. So I have connection there as well.
Oh yeah my classmate sia scholar I think he is govtech director that one I didn't keep in touch cause he went back India licasfilm or something.. Thought he gave up citizenship not sure how he got back to Singapore..

Yep connection is made thru uni alumni... Working...
Not thru some silly LinkedIn.

Anyone can type what nonsense on LinkedIn

It's about knowing the right people at the right time.
Nobody in the working world care or give a **** about FCH or school grade.

Oh FCH who can't get over the fact that will be his only accomplishment in life. Everything is downhill..
Imagine having to meet a new colleague and he introduce "hi my name is James, I'm from jus FCH 2020"

Innediate blacklist. Nobody will go lunch with him again.
