Bonus will be divided into 50% Cash, 50% equity. Terms and condition is equity given, shall be held at least 5 years before selling, otherwise will suffer a 30% haircut on the value. You may eventually quit the company before 5 years and sell the equity later. There is a monthly pricing on the equity if you were to sell, its relatively stable for the past year. Programmer here. |

Making about 20k a month with my new start up created during uni
|
U guys making too low at startups. First startup i joined after grad the cofounders told me if i bring in business and successfully implement it i get to keep 40% after deducting manpower. Of course the other 60% goes to them. So in turn after 6 months i earned about 637k. Of course the tax etc is hell. Plus now i cant even opt for BTO with my gf. So end up spending so much time hunting condos with all the middle aged people. Sian.

Why go startups?
First Class Honors should aim for FAANG tier already, no? |

The top tier CS grads and top notch devs? wtf u talking about lol of course not people like u la, u so braindead, cant even grasp basic concept of why people wanna go to billion dollar tech companies with insane work progression, learning curve and benefits. |
Don’t underestimate startups
Carousell which was founded in 2012 just became a unicorn. Those options could be worth a fortune a decade from now. |

bro you serious ?? that company is worth as much as the investor says it is bro... u know anyone working at carousell tech? i dont know anyone. i check linkedin also quite hard to find. nothing on uni internship pages also, in 3+ years, NTU / NUS / SMU all didn't mention carousell internship before. wow unicorn company that people hardly know about other than it's a website full of scammers and bugs, always crash, always messaging error etc. |

I didn’t mention anything about internship or working there? My point is don’t underestimate the potential of startups, replying to the guy who said don’t join startups. You don’t know how a small company now will end up a decade later. |

At my NUS dorm we have a running joke about carousell, it's basically a intern you take if you want to slack, learn nothing, get paid $500 / month and clear internship mods haha. |

My point is that obviously, the very best CS graduates will either work at FAANG or launch their own startups. Microsoft & Bytesdance too, sometimes. |

I am a fresh grad but also have 1 YOE as I was working in a big tech while finishing my last year. I was already getting more than 5k.
After grad recently I started applying for new roles cuz I want that boost, got a few offers from some other big tech, about 7-9k, 110-130k TC inclusive average target bonus. As I don't know anyone who has 1 YOE as fresh grad, idk if this is fair package. Actually shopee package was better as they included a lot of RSU, but I hated their interviewer's attitude. It was disgusting, no intro no convo no discussion, why would anyone join shopee lol. |

normally internship don't count as YOE (like ofc it is work experience, but no one count internship as YOE. I was working full time while studying full time so they counted that.). I am not entirely sure of the market right now, I think things are still hot and tech is still printing money, but back in Jan when I commented, average monthly base is about 5.5k I believe, so your 110k tc is quite good at 1YOE, probably not 75th percentile for cs degree holder but would be close. shopee is damn trash, I still remember that interview and it was the worst I ever had (I have been through maybe 50+ tech interviews in different companies so far, shopee was disgusting af). TC is not everything, I think we have life outside of work. Currently at Binance, there is wlb as long as you get your stuff done good and fast. I am sure in FAANG (less AMZN) you can find wlb too. To me at this point, I am earning good money and so I want to have good wlb and annual PTO to spend them. Ofc, if your goal is to accumulate more cash, then you can try to go for shopee or byteance's offer (I am not sure if they pay more, bytedance offered similar package to what I am currently having, and I think I am kinda low balled for my current package already). |
Blows my mind that anyone earning 100k TC would even come to this garbage ass forum full of trolls and tech-haters spewing BS.

And I am sure now some people earn more than 120k in grad offer, I was kinda low balled and also I joined more than half a year ago, market should be more hyped now I guess. |
