anyone know the maternity benefits for lecturers on contract employment? also 4mths paid maternity leave? what happens if deliver just before contract ends? will they renew your contract immediately after the expiry date of the previous contract & give you full 4mths paid maternity leave? or will they let the contract lapse & start the new contract after your maternity break, meaning no paid maternity leave?

If you are Singaporean, you are eligible for the 4 mths of ML. If SPR, you are only eligible for 2 mths of ML. If you are SPR and your child will be Singapore citizen, then you are eligible for 4 mths of ML like a Singaporean... As long as you are in continual employment (i.e. you signed the new contract), you should get your full ML. Contact your HR for details.

So depressing. You mean lecturers cannot move up the career ladder unless they take on managerial appointment? There is no such appointment as principal lecturer?
Pax 4 max is $10k pm?

PAX3 job titles include Senior Lecturer, Deputy Manager, Manager, Assistant Director, and Deputy Director
PAX4 max is $8980.
There is Principal Lecturer appointment but that is at PAX2. That is usually appointed to academic staff who has relinquished their managerial/directorial positions (i.e. waiting for retirement or reemployed after retirement).

What is the difference between a contract lecturer and a part-time lecturer? Or are they the same?
Does a contract/part-time lecturer just teach or need also to do the admin work like a full time lecturer?
Thanks to advise.

Does anyone know about non-academic managers, I.e. no teaching duties? Would it be pax3 too? Or possibly pax 4?
Going for an interview soon, and this thread has been v useful to understand pay range.
Masters with 7 years experience. I'm hoping at least pax 4.
