Count yourself very very blessed. I know of people coming from a background of director in the pte sector in property research who only got offered Pax 5 in 2010.

Either you are very good or RP is very desperate.

Default Transition to new environment

Hey,

Same here. Just got an offer from a poly in the west. I think is 5A too. I heard that as new joiners, u be only tutoring before actual lecturing ? Is that true ? Will there be orientation for us as mid careers ? It is a total change of environment.....

Any guru out there can help us to verify and advice ?

Question: my start day is few weeks after the start of the new academic year. Will I be teaching straight or given projects and other work first?

in real estate companies, everyone is an associate director or director. the fact that they accept a pax 5 job shows that the director title is pretty inflated.

Some of you may be surprised that a department in one of the Polytechnic have 8 deputy director. Each of them earning 10k minimum

When there is an exercise for cost cutting on manpower, it is the junior staff such as the CSO & TSO to head roll.
Waiting for retirement

MOE should look into it
