I can't be sure as the pay-scale will get a revision once every few years. We've just had a revision and our pay were adjusted upwards, not alot but better than nothing.
from your qualification and experience, I believe you're more suited to be a course manager or a section head, i.e management role. however, if there is no such opening then your next best bet is a Senior Lecturer post, hence, the PAX4A ranking.
i can't answer you on your chances of being recruited, many factors to it. anyway, I wish you all the best.

Thanks for the reply!
I left RSAF 16 years ago
I am not comfortable to take on the management role even if I have been offered for the position as what you have said, I have zero teaching experience.
Submitted my online application and see how it goes.

Very unlikely you'd be allowed to get into Course Manager appointment as a new hire though - too much at risk as you'd be unfamiliar with the many things involved in course curriculum, design and pedagogy, procedures, etc. Maybe a small possibility as a course-level Section Head but I also feel very unlikely. At best, maybe a function-level Section Head.

I will accept any offers above 6K (> 20% paycut). Of course provided they accept me

I'm 31 yo, a manager in the private sector. Is teaching in poly good for the CV or will it set me back in my career? Thank you all!

hello!
some schools, such as mine, does not place emphasis on whether one has teaching experience in order to be in a supervisory or management role. yes, it differs from schools to schools, really dependent on the director of the school.
some schools have director and assistant/deputy directors who are from the industry(management level etc.) and do not have a single clue on teaching.
I wish you all the best!
cheers!

Most of the deputy director has no or lesser teaching load.
Some of you may be surprised that a department in one of the Polytechnic have 8 deputy director. Each of them earning 10k minimum
When there is an exercise for cost cutting on manpower, it is the junior staff such as the CSO & TSO to head roll.

actually if you are looking at pax4, then try to find out from insiders if they still allow that in the department.
nowadays departments have to have a certain profile (ie max how many %pax4, how many %pax5 etc). usually there would already be too many PAX4, so might be hard to hire new Pax4s.

How do I know whether my online application for ITE Lecturer's position is been accepted or rejected? Those positions with due date 30th April have been removed from the database so does that mean that those positions are filled?

Frustated. Getting bored working in poly. Last 5-6 years here and no promotion. Joined as fresh grad with no industry experience. After yearly increments salary is still very low. I had engineering degree.
Job seems so monotonous. Classes almost 2-3 days per week and do admin work that is not appreciated.
Now, i can't go back to industry. What is best option for me? What else can i do to earn better? After being a lecturer, what else does one do?? Join ministry? which ones - please suggest some?

hi pal, with your job experience, why not consider teaching full time with MOE?
I think it as a meaningful job which contributes back to society. a bit cliche but that is the reason for me submitting my application online
also, mind to share your last drawn pay with your working experience in poly?
thanks!
