Anyone can confirm this? The last adjustment was in 2008, which comes with a price, slashing the annual leave drastically.

Our (Poly) HR director sent an e-memo in Feb in response to the civil service salary revision announcement. Yes, the polys are discussing salary revisions and adjustments, but I have no idea when we will know (I'm fairly new in the Poly)...

Did they say if it's revised upwards or downwards? Big difference between the 2 scenarios.
Don't forget that ministers got pay cuts, and soon it will be senior civil servants.

That's true. No mention about which way the revision will go... If downwards, then I'll make exit plans already...

Is it really that great to be a poly lecturer?
I have read this entire thread becoz I'm wondering whether it really is worth it to switch from moe to poly. I'm about 10 years in earning 5.5k. Unfortunately, I don't see myself becoming a hod. Hate the fact tt I'm continually judged based on my students performance. Want more freedom with my own time to do my projects but it seems like the first year is really an adjustment. Basically, anywhere u r, d 1st 2 yrs r a steep learning curve. I'm not afraid of hard work. Just wonder if it's worth it. Any ex moe teachers who r now poly lecturers can share wisdom?

Yes, my starting pay was only 2.something K. But 5.5k just the monthly gross without 13th month and PB...I have a 2nd Uppper....but what does it matter? Pay is just a number. If you are incredibly stressed and you have to work 12 hour days plus weekends or always on call then your pay divided by the number of hours means that the pay is actually very low. What does this guy who grad in 2007 do???
