anyone knows if its possible for us to embark on a career in consulting / banking / PE/VC firms?

Definitely yes. ntu is a globally recognised university. Nbs is accredited by AACSB and EQUIS. So if you have done internships in any of those during ur undergrad years, you are a shoe-in.

Probably mid/back office for banks as front-office roles are usually filled by finance grads.

SMU has triple accreditation in AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA.
You can queue up behind NTU/ NUS/ SMU finance grads.

it's been like that for years already. usually those cannot stats B/B+ then go hr/mkt

Front office dont need stats one. Just need to sell products.

Don't mean to pop your bubble, but i highly doubt so. Maybe not as a first job. Unless you have loads of experience in those firms or have done an IB internship before.
Else, I think BO of banks might be the most possible option. I've heard of people from HSS in BB BOs before.
