Career Change
hi all, need some advice. I’m in my mid 30s working in civil service. Earning about 6.5k. Considering a career change to cybersecurity with no relevant background knowledge. How long (realistically) would it take for me to get back to a 6.5k salary? How long/likely to reach 10k? Also, what are the specialisations that are higher in demand currently?

the TFIP is 18 months of training. The 5-6k allowance is without CPF contribution so essentially about 4.2k - 5.1k pay. Not sure if that's the best path forward. Or if getting a job for experience while getting certifications on the side would be a faster option for career progression. Saw some other programs that I don't really qualify for too. Anyone in one of these programs? What's the salary increase like after the completion of these programs? Are the experience gained from them as valuable as those gained in a normal job (in a CV)? |
Average Pay for InfoSec
Hey peeps, worship salary transparency here. Am an individual contributor in GRC with around 7-10 years of InfoSec work experience and all the ‘necessary’ infosec certs (ISC2, ISACA and blah blah), drawing 150-160k PA excluding bonus (2-4 months). I wonder how am I doing?
Am I underpaid for my year of experience. Curious to know how others are doing in my industry? |
