how does one start with a cybersecurity career as a fresh grad nowadays?

I'm keen to explore the cybersecurity field but I find myself leaning towards SWE as the "safest" option (I can code)

Get a few certs like CISSP and apply to MNCs/gov positions first?

What "paths" are available in terms of progression in the cybersecurity field?

TIA

Engineer, analyst, devsec, soc, redteam(pen test). See and test what you like then move around from there. Best go MNC better opportunities for exposure, gov position alot just paperwork slave and proj management.

It depend on your interest.

For example, "the get a few certs like cissp", there a lot of people can't even pass a single cert after staying in cyber for 5-10 yr. Most of the reason is lazy and tell you work too bz got no time.
