Yes, for me it was about web development. We had to build a web app that's about managing project resource. They provide all the data that we need. We can decide what database that we want to use, and what front end we want to use.
A tip before going into the hackathon, practice your api skill if you decide to do backend stuff. And practice some front end stuff if you want to help with the front end design. They let you choose what you want to do (frontend or backend), but you don't know who you will team up with, and you don't know what your teammate's background is, so it's better to be
prepared to do front end or back end to some extend if you want to ace it. But at the end of the day, they will assess you base on your provision for your team, so just do well on your part, no matter what you choose to do (frontend or backend). Try to help your teammate as well.

Have, but don't expect balling dev machines like the Macbook Pro fit for hardcore dev work. At best is only ThinkPad.
And DBS aims to be a tech firm. Top kek. Don't think they are able to keep up with big tech, the new fintech firms, and up and coming DeFi frameworks/blockchain use cases.
Also recognise they are propping up an ancient financial system responsible for the exploitation of the masses. They are scared of the blockchain, which is why the government is allowing them first dibs to "protect the consumer".
There are tech firms worth joining, then there are second rate tech firms, followed by consultancy and engineering, then there is this which is just putting lipstick on a pig.

I think it's because the guy who asked about the work laptop is most likely thinking of joining for the next intake, Jan / July next year...
So telling us that you got a Macbook Pro last intake ( this year july ), is basically useless info because every new intake has different rules / changes.
Unless you're saying that every intake is the same?

You're probably OP, but I'm merely refuting the statement that DBS does not provide Macbook Pros. It depends on the department you're in.
If the information from the last batch that joined isn't indicative, then go call up the HR instead of wasting your time asking here.
HR won't be lurking these forums so I'm sorry I provided your ungrateful ass with useless information.
