Be that as it may, I wouldn't recommend TS to change job now because a place that will accommodate her health issues won't be easy to come by. Changing in the current covid environment also compounds the risk - people take big issue with any one that coughs and if TS is new to a company, chances are the people won't take kindly to her coughing. The finances of businesses are also less stable due to the covid recession.

$4k after 6 years is indeed low. However, i was amazed by how forumer was saying how fresh grad can earn 4.8k - 6k? Are they selling their butt or what? Quite impossible. If it's this way, every one can be 20k within 10years.

No wonder your parents compare you to your relatives, 4k salary with 6 years experience is such a disgrace - leave this job to someone less qualified than you bruh.

Another talk rubbish one. How can fresh grad nowadays make 6k? Are you nuts or just an idiot? Do not talk rubbish. A fresh local grad with First class honours maybe can get a high 3k per month for a start. How can it be 6k? Is he a presidential scholar?

Even PSLE scholar offered less than $3500. But not sure how long ago was it. Where's the 4.8k to 6k people are talking about?

Yes. You hit the bull eye. 2.8-3.2k is the market rate.
So everyone please don't be mistaken by the above poster that 4.8k-6k is starting pay for fresh graduate lol. Unless maybe u are a presidential scholar.

All of the trolls...
Putting aside the outliers such as software engineers and peeps in IB, S&T or MBB.
The typical Graduate Program (Non-Tech) at an MNC pays around 4K ~ 4.6K starting.
The pandemic has indeed slashed the headcount but salary packages are unaffected pre-COVID. In fact some programs have their pay adjusted higher due to the new EP requirement.

Fresh grad roles in tech like Shopee data engineer (5.5k+) and Indeed SWE (6-7k) etc have those kinds of starting pay. GIC fresh grad associate also around there. Not even talking about FAANGs or BBs here.
Roles above 5k starting look at relevant internship experience more than class honors. If you are the kind that can only think in linear honors -> pay increments, these fresh grad roles are probably not for you.

I see so many people around are hungry for 2.5k pay everywhere. This is the current world now.

Hungry for 2.5K? Maybe that is diploma rate. Fresh uni grad rate will be around 3.5k minimally.
