You are trolling right.

Good to know that you went to one of the popular schools, which the affluent will try all means to get their kids to the popular schools. But with any modicum of common sense, it should be easy to know that the boomers in the mean/median range are not that well to do.

I think do r those whose parents are comfortably making their own living, what they want is not more money from their kids, but for the kids to spend more time with them, talk to them - that is more precious to any parent than hundreds or even thousands more a month.

Will $500 or $2000 a month make them any happier if they already have enough? Maybe but they will probably be happier if you make it a point to bring them out on holidays, and have meals with them because time is priceless.

31F, 8YOE
Work in bank, 150k pa base, bonus can be anything from 4-6 months
I give my parents $200 each a month because they do not want more
Food = $1k a month
Insurance = $500 a month
Shopping = $200 a month
Transport = $200 a month
Rent & utilities = $2.5k a month
Fixed investment into various portfolios = $4.5k a month
Crypto investments = $500 a month
Limited cash savings of about $2k a month, already have ~$150k savings and don’t want too much cash although I am planning to buy a condo within next 2 years
I save all my bonus and allow myself to buy one new bag (~$10k) and have a good holiday (~$5k) every year
I rejected parents help for down payment for my condo because I want to save for it myself

Not exactly trolling, I now know that the median and mean are quite low. But as far as my experiences are concerned, what I described is really average.

Also, what the poster at #342 says kinda supports my observation once again. And what he says about what parents want is spot on. Every parent is different. You can't be fixated on the idea that giving only $x is a sin.

I can. Giving your parents $6 is a sin. You are entitled to your own opinion and I am entitled to mine.

Also:

1) pretty sure #342 takes his parents on holidays/meals

2) is not as entitled as you are given that she actually rejected her parent’s help for condo downpayment

Btw, do you even have friends? Judging by your replies you seem to have a severe lack of EQ, no cap.

I stand lived in landed homes or to say their parents were a come into. In fact, in landed homes or them. They have most of the wealth of the sum that people giving on that the same of housing. Even when I did, most only a token sum as a millenials known place, paying that people give.

The children of where more the wealth that people giving on the same of the sum that few in primary school most classmates live, or to a smaller

Ya, how can it be most when it is just his circle. I thought he is just trolling to get response.

This is like the top 1000 of the world saying everyone is a multi billionaire and poverty is fake news

So every time you disagree with someone, that person must be trolling?

You hang around poor losers living in HDBs, you probably live in one as well. No surprise you have 0 idea.
