Well... as what we are aware, that's often a form of self consolation amongst GLC employees who never worked in a highly competitive MNC before, believing you can learn more in an insulated environment like singtel. The fact is, without real competition, it becomes another case of ownself check ownself. A pat on the back after you win a one man race. Most certainly, you get the best stability but you cannot endure changes. Take a look at what happened to Comfortdelgro when Grab and Uber entered the race. Without the protection of insulation, you cannot survive. This is why MNCs usually breed competence and people with experience here more sought after.

Try applying for a job with Micron on your CV instead of Singtel - for ANY corporate non-technical role I can guarantee you the Singtel fellow will be selected for interview and offered ahead of you, all things equal.

Not taking sides here.
Supposedly, 2 candidates of the same university and course, same 9 year experience, took on similar roles and position are fighting for a new position in HGST regional manager

Candidate 1
Employment history:
Singtel, ST electronics, SMRT

Candidate 2
Employment history:
MICRON, Infineon, Cisco

Who stands a better chance? Answer yourself and you don't have to post out.

Agreed that in general, Singtel > Micron by a mile in terms of their profile. One of them is listed while the other is just a small medium enterprise. Sure they have a factory in woodlands and employ like 100+ employees but compared to Singtel, they still cannot match up in scale. Not as prestigous as having singtel in your CV. Another good option is to go for ST. These are very stable and prestigous so way better than any sme.
