Direct hires varies. But generally, 3.5K (4.3K gross) is the standard throughout the duration of management associate/graduate schemes like IMDA AIM, STB MA, EDB AP etc.

Classification will affect your increment after completion of the programme.

Sorry do you mean 4.3k salary, then minus 20% CPF contribution is 3.5k?

And the employer contribute 17% on top of 4.3k which is a separate thing

yep think that's what he meant. basically 3.5k is what you'll see in your bank (and not cpf) account.

Unregistered 26-04-2020 10:56 PM

EDB is 4.3k, MAS is 4.4k and ESG is 4.1k. received all 3 offers

How long does it take to reach 5K in these stat boards?

will hit 5k base after 2nd year. note that for EDB and MAS the bonuses are quite solid so the annual package is already 60k for starting salary if you include the bonuses. so you shouldn't just look at the base salary. these stat boards don't follow ministry bonuses.

Unregistered 27-04-2020 02:30 PM

how about CPF board?

Are increments merit-based or based on degree classifications?

If you get into a graduate scheme/MA, everyone gets the same pay throughout the duration.

Only on the next payroll after completion of the programme will the initial classification increment kick in. (FCH +500 etc.)

Afterwards it’s all merit-based and office politicking hehe.

pretty sure MAS offers 3.8 flat for all graduate officers. 4.4 including employer's CPF?

Unregistered 02-05-2020 11:28 AM

Do different ministries pay differently in the first place? I thought everyone across ministries are on the MX scheme so everyone should be getting about the same pay?

BBs doesn’t discriminate class of honours, base salary for different seniorities is more or less the same.

Correct me if I’m wrong.

Unregistered 02-05-2020 10:16 PM

Will the Covid situation lead to a lower starting base salary in CS?

No. But definitely with lesser headcount per department.

The stat board I’m working in is gonna roll out a couple dozen slots for “SGUnited Traineeships”. This sounds generous and all but we’re only paying fresh grads a pathetic 1,500/month for the whole year.

yes, they used to give 4 months bonus with 3.8k monthly salary but now they cut to 2 month bonus and the remaining 2 months is spread across monthly, hence 4.4k (before cpf). this is for 2020 batch

Unregistered 03-05-2020 12:10 PM

Does anyone know the typical yearly bonus for dsta?

To add on, not sure if this is entirely a good thing but no one will ever get fired from the CS due to performance.

The bureaucracy here is soo rigid till every single administrative action will have to go through several layers upwards before execution. That goes without saying that organization moves like a tortoise.

It’s a place to cruise your way till retirement. Of cuz, it can’t beat the glitz and glam of a front office chad working in BB but the job security and work life balance of the CS is unparalleled.

if you don't aspire to be a multimillionaire CS is good enough.

very comfortable life, can afford a car and a small landed property. already better than at least 70% of singaporeans

What scheme are you on? How old are you? Which field (eg
Social/defence/economic) does your agency belong to?

if you cant make it to director level in CS, you will just be aver SG and stuck in CS forever.. getting that 100-200 increment every year

Unregistered 04-05-2020 08:28 AM

Cs increment so sad? 148 only?

Unregistered 04-05-2020 03:54 PM

Is the yearly increment for CS standardized and is there any major increments?

This is for the past when a HDB flat cost $30k and a landed cost $150k. Back then many teachers and civil servants bought small landed houses, usually terraces. A young civil servant joining today would have done extremely well for himself if he managed to buy a condo. Most buy HDB flats I believe.

A sub-entry level car like a perodua bezza or mutsubishi attrage is probably possible too but not very comfortably.

Nope, disagree. I've witnessed cases where employees are fired or asked to leave due to performance. Although most of the times they voluntarily leave first before being forced to leave.

hdb is gooder, when feel stress can do the skydiving from rooftop
