Relocation to the US or stay in SG?
Hi
Has anyone here received a job to relocate to the US before? Did you take it and if yes, why? ( aside from the insane pay bump.)
I'm a little hesitant due to cultural differences.

tell us more about your job, the salary that u r getting there.
how it differs from the one u are getting here.
more comprehensive that way, right?
US taxes are not friendly like SG's.
that said, it really depends on your job, industry, remuneration between the 2 places.
and also, your marital status.
do u have kids?

I was offered a 3 year job posting to Germany in 2015
Snr Engineer
Annual salary about EUR85K
Direct supplier to German and Chinese automotive industry.
I had a diploma in mechanical engr, 9 year experience, VDA6.3 and 6.5 certified, ASQ CQE, fluent in English, German and Mandarin.
I took up the offer and never looked back. If you have been working in a MNC all your life, speak their language, you will be able to overcome the differences easily. Go for it.

Are you sure its a pay bump after including all the taxes, rental, cost of living, etc. USA isn't cheap especially in places like NY or LA. $100k p.a. salary is barely getting by after accounting for taxes, rent and COLA.
