Merit and Promotion increment still have. It matches private sectors.

Pay freeze only for those who are not working. If you working, whether WFH or in office, why must pay freeze? It matches private sectors also.

Now mid-year bonus news out. And pay cut for some. It will match private sectors also.

Have a good day everyone. Hang in there for those who are having it tough. The world needs more hope and positivity. If anyone is insecure, don't have to try to take a swipe at others to make them insecure. We are all in the same boat.

Is there a standardised way performance is appraised through different agencies? is it possible for everyone to get certain PB if everyone does well, or somehow must be distinction between people at the same career grade?

2017 - 4200 -- resigned in Jun (C+)
2018 - 4700 -- joined Ministry in Jan as MX12 (HR said my years of exp in SB are relevant)

Anyone knows if a promotion is likely next year?
2nd upper local uni, no NS
Just to update on my progression (31 yo this year)

2019 - near 5k after confirmation (C+)
2020 - 55xx -- promoted to MX11 (B+)

Hi, I'm actually a contract staff at a SB.

Grade was C for 2019 and just heard I got B for the recent appraisal for 2020. Would like to seek advice if I should stay on or seek transfer as I heard that there are very little perm slots and room for promotion.

Thanks!

These days there are many places with little perm slots and room for promotion. If you find a place that offers both, it's worth jumping IMHO.

Default About 13th month

Not concerning about PB but will there be 13th month this coming December? Or we won't even get 13th month?

According to a Business Times article a couple of days back, SG might be experiencing a K shaped recovery where some industries/jobs continue to go down while others are recovering well or even growing.

Most of the deteriorating roles involve lower income positions. Most white collar roles have recovered or are doing fine because they can do work remotely.

In light of the above, it would be super unfair to force the entire service to follow the downtrending industries. If they do that, it would also cause the public service to be less competitive and out of line with the private sector equivalent which they like to benchmark themselves to.
