Although the MX10 and 9 ranges look odd. there is no overlap in $ as with the other MXes. $12,300 jump to $16,700!

1) You know the month before in March, officially.
2) You are promoted in the Promotion Year but effective from a different calendar year. For example, you are promoted in Promotion Year 2024 with effect from 1 Jan. This generally relates to anniversary promotions at lower job grades. Recently, this is a common phenomena and intended to retain talents, i.e. by telling you this year that you will be promoted next year.
3) Your boss informs you that a push for your promotion was made, and it has been endorsed by the highest authority. You either know it at this point or at point #1.

If you are due for promotion. Your boss (e.g. Director) will give you hints or tell you upfront that he is looking to push you for promotion. This will usually happen at the end of the year when he/she sees you for appraisal.

Of course, either he will confirm with you again in Jan/Feb in the following year or when you are notified through more official means.
