Don't rule out a pay cut. Bonus, if any, will truly be a bonus.

Unregistered 03-05-2020 11:21 AM

I dont think there's any possibility of bonus under these conditions. Will there still be AWS tho?

Unregistered 03-05-2020 12:52 PM

Yes for AWS. Not sure if there'll be paycut.

im a 28 yrs old, no NS, did my bachelors locally and my masters overseas (both irrelevant to the role though). but i also had 3 years of (relevant) private sector experience.

thanks!

Seems reasonable~. Pretty similar for me -- 28yo, 3.9k, SB, FCH Local Uni + Master's Degree, NS.

There's pay increment for the technology and economist schemes recently. You might need to wait till 2021 to see the pay cut.

Unregistered 18-06-2020 05:31 PM

Merit and Promotion increment still have. It matches private sectors.

Pay freeze only for those who are not working. If you working, whether WFH or in office, why must pay freeze? It matches private sectors also.

Now mid-year bonus news out. And pay cut for some. It will match private sectors also.

Have a good day everyone. Hang in there for those who are having it tough. The world needs more hope and positivity. If anyone is insecure, don't have to try to take a swipe at others to make them insecure. We are all in the same boat.

Unregistered 25-08-2020 11:44 AM

Hi there,

I have just joined SB recently and I would like to check what is the percentage increment for grade C, Grade C+ and Grade B.

Thank you!

Unregistered 16-09-2020 06:11 PM

Is there a standardised way performance is appraised through different agencies? is it possible for everyone to get certain PB if everyone does well, or somehow must be distinction between people at the same career grade?

2017 - 4200 -- resigned in Jun (C+)
2018 - 4700 -- joined Ministry in Jan as MX12 (HR said my years of exp in SB are relevant)

Anyone knows if a promotion is likely next year?
2nd upper local uni, no NS

Just to update on my progression (31 yo this year)

2019 - near 5k after confirmation (C+)
2020 - 55xx -- promoted to MX11 (B+)

Hi, I'm actually a contract staff at a SB.

Grade was C for 2019 and just heard I got B for the recent appraisal for 2020. Would like to seek advice if I should stay on or seek transfer as I heard that there are very little perm slots and room for promotion.

Thanks!

These days there are many places with little perm slots and room for promotion. If you find a place that offers both, it's worth jumping IMHO.

About 13th month

Not concerning about PB but will there be 13th month this coming December? Or we won't even get 13th month?

Unregistered 28-10-2020 12:39 PM

According to a Business Times article a couple of days back, SG might be experiencing a K shaped recovery where some industries/jobs continue to go down while others are recovering well or even growing.

Most of the deteriorating roles involve lower income positions. Most white collar roles have recovered or are doing fine because they can do work remotely.

In light of the above, it would be super unfair to force the entire service to follow the downtrending industries. If they do that, it would also cause the public service to be less competitive and out of line with the private sector equivalent which they like to benchmark themselves to.

no matter k/v/w/kawaii shape, look at gdp. gdp go down, means no bonus.

13th month is not Year-End Bonus. These are separate things. So definitely you will get the 13th month because it is given since the '13th month' is a result of the different number of work days for the months in the year.

As for the year-end bonus, pray.

Unregistered 14-11-2020 12:42 PM

arent u the guy who kept insisting there would be a pay cut? haha. Luckily there isnt.

Err there was though.. At least I got a cut. Didn't you read the news? It's good that it didn't apply to everyone, but some of us got it.. thankfully it was just 1 month

you are in superscale?

Unregistered 14-11-2020 01:50 PM

AVS should be zero this year
To be fair to pte sector
We spend a lot of money bailing out local companies and business
As civil servants, not taking the AVS is the least we can do

No logic. Civil servant money was used to bail out private businesses and a lot of them seemed to make a windfall out of the subsidies because they didn't need it to begin with (already profitable). Meanwhile poor persons like me making 4k a mth in the service are affected because I'm barely too "rich" to get help and too poor to afford anything other than a spartan existence of beans and rice bread and water!

Unregistered 14-11-2020 03:12 PM

firstly, u are not in superscale.

secondly, u are a troll.

thirdly, u are free to continue doing so in this forum. By all means.

Most importantly, most people dont get the paycut. Sorry for disappointing.

AVS needs to be zero
Civil servants cannot be seen as uncaring to the masses
I bet avs will be zero.
