Yes….C grade

Unregistered 09-02-2023 11:14 PM

Anyone knows the B and C PB for MX10? Is there a difference for MX10 SAD vs MX10 DD?

Unregistered 11-02-2023 12:41 PM

Can someone advise when will we find out our PB grading? Is it early March or late March close to release of PB bonus?
Also is there an estimated bonus for each grading?

I’m guessing
1.5 months C-
2 months C
2.5 months C+
3 months B
4 months A

It varies depending on one's MX level. The higher your MX level, the higher the no of months for the same grading. E.g. C for MX12 might be 1.5, and 2 for MX11. But your estimates are about right.

Is this inflated.
MX11A here in a big ministry and C+ is definitely not above 2 months.

I went to check my own records. As an MX11A in a Ministry, I got 3.3 with a B. I recall the difference between a B and C is about a month.

This is MX11 grade bonus

Unregistered 12-02-2023 06:50 PM

anyone knows if you are able to predict your perf grade by the number of "exceeding". "meeting" and "developing" indicators given?

Is it indicative?

I would say yes and no. Obviously if you have a lot of "exceeding", bosses probably feel you are punching above your own weight and chances you will get a B vs C may be higher. However, this is against the backdrop of a bell curve, i.e. if your entire team is also high performing, then your chances of getting a B is equalised.

28M, NS, FCH, farmer, in a ministry. Got B in first year and (hopefully I don't jinx it) based on my chat with my RO and Director, I sense another B in my second year.

Posting to another policy team now, but what's different now compared to before is that there are scholars. I don't foresee any work life balance.

Still, is it worth it to keep farming and try to hit MX11 by my 3rd year in service? Honestly I'm so burned out. I guess I could (a) wing it out, try to hit MX11 before moving to another ministry/SB given the **** economy/labor market prospects; or (b) toughen it up and try to pivot to private now (lolz, with my arts degree).

Greatly appreciate any nuggets of wisdom!!

PSD will give 1.5 months again la, no matter what economic conditions. If not expect higher resignation rates.

4. Sigh still midway to 5k base. I think cuz my role was initially offered on a contract basis. A guy my age and same credentials in another ministry is alr 4.7k.

Unregistered 16-02-2023 08:24 PM

Generally you're fked based on your starting salary. Salary lower, have to farm more.

If you're still young can try your luck in private, else suck it up and farm since ageism is a thing

Just to share my experience:
Female, 2nd upper, joined ministry when I was 29 yo, 4.7k at MX12
Was promoted to MX11 2 years later and then MX11A 2 years later again. Now 6.6k+.
I think your base seems quite low.. I already think my base at MX11A is not that high..

OP here, thanks for sharing. Seems like you're really a high performer.

Hence I am finding other jobs w more "transferable" skills, or MTI/EDB/ESG (alr rejected by EDB twice oops).

Your progression is like rocket. Promotion every 2 years? It’s on par with all the top tier scholars and even faster than 95% scholars. Are u on PSLP?

Though to be fair I asked about being on PSLP when I was MX11. Director shared that your CEP needs to be at a certain level (he didn't say what it is but I guessed it's MX7 at least) to even apply to the programme if not on PSC scholarship (not guaranteed to get in). The next year he told me my CEP was raised and then I got promoted. He didn't reveal what is my CEP though.

Anybody knows what is MX12 performance grade multiplier?

Based on past posts in this thread I gather the following:

A = 2.95
B+ = 2.75
B = 2.5
C+ = 2.2
C = ?

Anybody knows what is C's multiplier?
