Hi, can anyone share some insights or experiences if I were to choose this scheme/career as a mid-career switch?

In my early 30s now... :(

Thanks and appreciate your replies

it is a stable career, but many red tapes and hierarchical.

respectable job by most

i wish you all the best in your application.

though i feel that it's quite an open secret SPF & SAF usually dont entertain ppl who want to sign on from age 30 onwards.

perhaps it might be better if u try smth like SAF ME4-1 (Military Expert) instead...

Its the same as me4. Applied 4 military intelligence at 30. They rejected me and asked me how do they know i am fit. I am lean and muscular btw. And guess wat. The interviewer was some plump guy.

i am the same poster from #3.

hmmm...no idea then...my impression is that it's easier to sign on as ME, bcos i saw from the newspapers that there were a few mid-career people who successfully transitioned to ME.

btw, i thought all uniformed groups conduct thorough medical n fitness tests b4 offering the sign-on contract? very weird that your interviewer said how do they know you are fit...

Yea pretty disappointing. One of the major/ltc asked me during the panel. So much for mid career switch...its like supposed to be non combat role and touch more on leadership and command control operations and they asking me if i am fit enough..clearly it was age discrimination. Maybe i should have replied that i was fitter than him.

Thanks for the link.

Actually I was more leaned on knowing how much will the pay be raised annually?

Pay raise is only big if promotion, otherwise is very little

Cut off age is 35.. No point joining after that too.. Your final rank when you retire will be capped at max a SUPT?

Wow really capped at 35? And to think that MHA recently raised their retirement age to 58 years old...

I applied an spf position but its not inspector. It is non uniformed under home team specialist scheme. Is it bonded?

Hi there, I’m 31 this year (lady!) and looking at mid career switch as well. To the lady above, congrats! Mind to share your age as well as well why you’re looking to join spf direct entry inspector / rehab officer?
