How difficult is it to change industry ?
I believe the government is encouraging mid-career switch for matured older adults.
However, I sent in several resumes to companies of a different industry yet noone even give me a chance for an interview despite there are some companies which do not require related work experience.
Why is it so difficult to switch industry ?

if u want the truth, let's face it...matured adults are up against cheaper, younger n faster fresh grads who probably ask for the same pay.
and over @ careersgov, u have degree vacancies outnumbering diploma vacancies 9 to 1, even though the govt has announced that they will try to "make" most civil servants go on the 1 career path scheme.
in short, dont believe in their words, but rather look at their actions.
