The same idiots putting Shopee on a pedestal are probably the same ones who couldn't even get into it, let alone FAANG equivalents.
They see the $7k starting salary think it's some hot s**t. Cos computing and IT roles were offering crap pay for the longest time.
Front office and some non-front office starting finance roles have been offering comp far above $7k for decades, and finance folks don't go around worshipping their banks and shielding their employers from all criticism.
