You should consider the working hours. There's no use earning $12k a month if you can't last more than 2 years. On the other hand, highly paid tech roles don't burn you out. Not to mention that IB roles are a lot more competitive.

Does not matter because fresh grads are able to handle the hours, take the sad money and enjoy life.

They are competitive and able to exceed expectations at work. Feels a great sense of pride working for cimpanies that give sad money.

That's not the point. The top CS student should be able to handle high finance level of working hours and stress. Whether he chooses to do it or not is another thing.

The question is why is the top CS student from NTU or NUS (LKY Gold Medal) only getting 100k+ per annum (plus RSU) from Shoppe to match his other supposed offers, when he should be getting SV-level FAANG-type offers (which are easily on par with IB or PE level offers)?

All talk so much, there is no point talking about 'top grad pay' when no one here is top grad. Top grad won't be wasting time on forums like yall. Better go check out average pay using glassdoor or levels. If you do a bit of research you will know Shopee average annum is around 75k.

Lots of people browse these forums, HWZ and reddit - including top grads, middle grads and low grads.

for what exactly? what can the top grad from NTU / NUS offer that a top leetcoder from India cannot? What a joke lol the NTU / NUS syllabus for CS are all online, literally recycled every year... even got caught cheating too, paying people on carousell to do their coding assignment.

As if companies would pay 100k for students fresh out of a school notorious for cheating and other scandals. The ones disagreeing are typically your washed up has-beens trying too hard to cling on to their school reputation yet get surpassed in every way imaginable.

Only fresh grad in IB can get 100k.

Shopee is known to pay very differently depending on your GPA, previous internship experience and interview performance. That's why you have varying figures. Yes it's possible for TC to be over 100k for a fresh grad there.
