Are 4 year contract jobs odd?
Most of the time when you think of contract positions, those that you find through employment agencies, they tend to be 1-2 year positions with the possibility to convert to perm or further extension of contract.
But have any of you heard of a 4 year contract position?

IIRC, a 4-year contract is a direct violation to MOM regulation.

Do not ever accept a contract position, if you can help it.
What you are telling the employer is that for the next "X" number of years (4 years in your case), you are willing to forfeit:
1. Prospects to move up the corporate ladder even if you are a star performer
2. Courses/training opportunities which will up your value
3. Bonuses even if the company did well as a whole
Of course, they are more cons than pros for a contract position which are too many to list down here.
