FWIW, US Banks like Citi, Bank of America, JP Morgan ~mid 5k for starting grad pay. Most of them enter 2 year tech program, will be ~6.5-7k then

what no one tells you in this kind of stats, is the plateau and stagnation. Have you ever seen anyone cite salaries about 5 years? its becuse after that your salary stagnates till you retire. This industry is like footballer career, high pay for young, decreasing over the years above 5 years.

Fresh grads earning 6-7k+ are getting rly common now too

Those fresh grad exists but not that common. The starting pay for top fresh grads getting higher and higher but the starting pay for the remaining 80% of tech fresh grads is increasing at a snail's pace.

Fresh Grad, pay 6k.
Then again, govtech is 7k++
Eyes on the ball at all times. How does a business make $$? What do I do that translates to more $$ or less cost so I can ask for more $$?
What do I have to know to earn more $$?
Lastly, how do I show to interviewers I'm worth that premium?

Working in FinTech in one of the trading satellite offices here. 4 years exp, C++ code mainly. Monthly taking in around 14k, bonus see how, this year is likely an outlier but maybe around 8 months bonus.
When a bug can cost the company hundreds of thousands, they're willing to pay for careful devs

Able to share which trading firm? Also do you think its possible for a dev to self learn C++ and jump to these places
