Hi all - I am a penultimate year Singaporean undergrad studying overseas. I aspire to work in IBD at a BB but so far I have no luck in my summer internship applications.
I interned at a bank's back office role and a fintech startup previously. Was thinking of applying to a boutique IB in sg, but many of them are looking for interns who can work for a longer duration ( I can only work during my summer break for 3 months ) and they often recruit directly from local unis.
Does anyone have any recommendations/advice for someone with very little to no experience?

Hi guys, need some advice. I am reviewing an analyst offer from a fund. Is it normal that there is a non-compete clause that restricts me from gaining employment from a competitor 6 months after leaving the firm? The notice period is also pretty long at 4 months. Would these clauses be negotiable?

Hi I worked in accounting in Australia for 1 year after graduation. I am currently a 1st year research associate at a boutique fund (<5b AUM) in Singapore. Drawing 9k/mth base. Any idea how much bonus is the norm in Singapore?

For Funds it is not as structured as a banking program, so it could be highly dependent on your team's as well as fund's overall performance. At a junior level, anywhere between 30 - 80% would be a reasonable expectation.
Assuming you are at an Equities fund, since PE/VC/Macro don't have research associates.

Recently received an offer from a tier 1 VC, with base of 12.5k. No carry. Anyone here can share what my bonus expectation should be? And when can I expect carry to kick in?
I am currently a 2nd year analyst at a BB in singapore, and would be taking a significant pay cut for this opportunity. More than just the salary I am also looking at hours worked, since I am severely burnt out on 100-hr weeks.
I'd appreciate any insight from people in the VC industry on future bonus and carry expectations and maybe also base trajectory? And are you satisfied with your life in VC?

Are you talking about TC when referring to a pay cut? Care to share the BB that you are currently at (European/US)?

Does anyone know the pay progression for a product role, not PM, in top AM firms (eg vanguard, blackrock, fidelity, pimco etc), from analyst 1 through 1st year VP?

If I am not mistaken (others, feel free to correct), global AM firms like the ones you mentioned do not/rarely hire at the analyst level for product roles at least in the region (APAC).
If they do, would expect compensation to be in line with sales roles at the junior level. At the senior levels, pay for product will really skyrocket if you have your MBA/CFA/CAIA and the product you are managing see solid flows and performance

Guideline is take total pay for sales role at a bank and discount by 30%. For average performer sales role at bank pays roughly -
yr1 - 150k
yr2 - 200k
yr3 - 250k
yr4 - 350k
yr5 - 420k
At the top level it becomes more variable as you are responsible for driving the business.
