Have always felt that six months type of internships are abit overkill, even for corp finance/ research. Even more overkill or bank ops, sgx or others. But if you did not have any other internships and had minimal success with interviews, and think a 6 month stint could do you good, then go for it.

Am working for a few years now so I do vet through their resume at times. The undergrads these days quite insane one with multiple six months internship at hand, not sure how they do it. So if I just look at the resume to shortlist, definitely the one with more relevant internships and meaningful projects will stand out.
PS. referring to final/penult undergrads

Some of it could be flaky. I had salesperson asking me about a prospective candidate that has done internship at my firm. In the resume, the person has done more in two months than what I have done in few years. What do I say.

if finance in general is one big incestuous family tree, corporate banking could be loosely related to high finance (maybe like the 1st cousin or smth) far from being the runt of the litter anyway (like big4)
