Hi guys. Singaporean here. Am looking to pursue a double degree in Finance and Law at the University of Sydney. Would this allow me to break into the local IB field? Or would I need a BS from the likes of NYU or Wharton. I know Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse Singapore have winter analyst internships for people studying in Australia.

There are salary reports out there on websites such as efinancialcareers. 'Material Risk Takers' so those MDs and partners in s&t earn about 1.5m USD on average. Some can go up to 10m. I believe IBer should be very similar though they wont be considered under the MRT bucket

I am your typical finance student in local uni aspiring to go for IB, but I just can't make the cut (FCH GPA, Relevant internships, etc.). I guess ppl are just much much better. So right now really considering other more possible career. Insights and advices are much appreciated.
So much self pity but feeling bad about myself since many of my peers actually made it.

PE is much harder to break in than IB

Ofc not the MF. talking about mid sized PE firms. From linkedin it seems many ppl with less than impressive background can make it to mid sized PE in SG. whereas if you see IB ppl most liekly their background on linkedin is already pretty stacked.

Which AUM bracket are you talking referring to? Mid sized can be subjective

What is the base salary for entry level investment roles in family offices? Industry is too opaque, couldn’t find any data points
