Example 1:
IB earns upwards of 18.3K/mth instead of 11K/mth in a good year. Gd yr gets 8m bonus and base/mth is 11K, then total compensation (TC) is 11K x 20 = 220K per annum = 18.3K per month.
Example 2:
Tech earns upwards of 12K/mth instead of 8.3K/mth. Base of 100K per annum + annual bonus of 3mth + stock units of 80K vesting over 4y which brings avg annual TC of 100K/annum+8.33K/mth x 3mth + 80K/4y = 145K.
Example 3:
Tech Sales (6K to 9K) vs Random MA program of (5K to 6.25K/mth). Both with 5K base: 1) but Tech Sales gets stock units, bigger bonuses, and commission. 2) While SG MA gets only a 3mth performance bonus.
Based on MOM's definition:
For employees, it refers to the gross monthly wages or salaries before deduction of employee CPF contributions and personal income tax. It 1) comprises basic wages, 2) overtime pay, 3) commissions, 4) tips, 5) other allowances 6) and one-twelfth of annual bonuses.

Talking about just base is pointless unless you work for some SME which pays like 0-1 mth bonuses. These surveys really need to be updated for latest market practices.

hi all, wanted to get ur advise on this.
i am on 2year-contract scheme with enterprise sg since jun 2020. starting pay was 4.0k with zero yearly increment, annual is 12+1 per year (means jun'21 get 13th mth)
my bosses have been pushing for my perm conversion since jan'21 due to good performance, appraisal is basically EE at my 6m and 12m mark. in a 12 month period, everyone else on my team either quit or rotated out. I am the only idiot that stayed behind, and i'm now considered as "senior". I am also the first fresh grad that my team ever hired.
right now, HR has finally started the conversion process after months of waiting. they want to offer me emplacement in my current team (means no change nor increment at all). the terms are:
1 same starting pay as i got in jun'20 i.e. 4k (which if u think about inflation and gst, im getting a pay decrease)
2 my accrued leave will be cancelled and encashed, start from 0 again.
3 next promotion can only happen in april'23 (means 1 more year of shitpay and shitrank)
4 probation for 6 months even though i've worked in my current team going to be 2 years now
wtf this sounds like carouhell no? i basically start from scratch again, after hardcarrying my team for the past 1 year plus??
after inflation, 2x EE, and ESG doglife this is what they can offer?
what do yall think

still 4k, not a good deal, try to nego, don't lowballed by HR, compare with your peer/colleagua what is their current pay?
I bet your HR know you won't "run away" (emplacement) so they take advantage on your.
Good luck!

i know for those same batch but finish 1 yr MA, they will raise +300 to 500 on avg.
they try to sell that i will now be eligible for all the other bonuses (perf, AWS, mid/end year etc) but its the lack of base increment that's a slap in the face
thx for tip though
