Quite alot of the FI salaries. I know I/B and SnT earns alot, but an exact figure 10k salary and 9.6k standard salary across different organizations with different roles within I/B and SnT seems dubious.

Agree this is accurate. Thanks. Kearney looks a bit high at 10. Isn't it closer to 7?

Year 1 student here at one of the local uni. Just curious, for those high paying roles in Finance how hard is it to get? Roughly how many people do they take each year and do I have to be super smart to get in?
Did decently well in A-levels but seems like everyone in uni is quite hardcore.

There are 8 bulge brackets with maybe a couple others (Nomura, HSBC) and some boutiques (Evercore, Lazard etc) that pay bank. There are some tier 2 ones that pay 5-7k.
For the top 8, say each takes in 2 IBD on average (some 1-2, some 5-6) and maybe 4 for S&T. Say 50 positions a year? That can be divvied between SG uni grads, SG overseas grads ( LSE, Ivies coming back for internships) and ASEAN hires (PH, VN, ID etc given their language skills). So for local unis maybe 30 positions are up for grabs? Feel free to correct my estimates.
Maybe add GIC / Temasek but I don't know their pay structure well except maybe their year 1 base is comparable. I heard their base salaries are lower in the long term and paid more via bonuses.

It is super competitive. If you think first class honours is hard to achieve, than it is not for you. I am not saying high GPA is important, but there are limited roles in front office roles. You can count by hands maybe 3 to 4 people get the jobs in one cohort. They mostly hire grad from Ivy league/Oxbridge.
Most of them who get the jobs at JP or GS are working for middle/back office and they pay is different (not as competitive as well).

Would argue that jobs in JP/GS MO and BO grad programs are pretty competitive as well. Not as competitive but still pretty darn competitive.
Source: Went for Intern AC for MO/BO at one of the top-tier bulges. Crunched the numbers and estimated about >100 students who were shortlisted for AC for just one class/batch (local uni double degree/scholars + overseas targets like NYU and Brown)
