Job listing requirements are not set in stone. What I meant is, the same few top candidates would have spent time in consulting, investment banking or tech with key roles and projects under their belt.

There is little difference: one who takes an mba and one who does not are simply: mba vs 1-2 years more to show for his work results

From a hiring perspective they are quite similar because in Singapore mbas aren’t as revered. The exception here is for consulting firms, but these days you can get to associate level without mba too

The true value of the mba lies in 1) working overseas especially if you do US/UK/EU mbas and 2) building your network with bright students from various regions

Hey anyone with an idea of how's the culture and work life balance as a trainee with SocGen? Had an offer from them but still have yet to decide whether to accept. Also, what's the chances of being converted after 2 years?

Most likely will convert. The contract arrangement is typical of french banks CA does the same thing.

Pay wont be great but decent enough and there is a slight bonus and increment after the 1st year.

Hi. Can anyone share with me the difference between Accenture's TAP and a direct hire into a consulting role for fresh grads? Does the TAP have better progression etc?
