Foreigner in Banking Industry
 

Are banks in SG open to hiring foreigners? Took up masters in NUS but having a hard time finding job in the banking industry in Singapore. Any tips anyone?

For junior roles i think its difficult for foreigners to get in

Certain teams in Dbs are flooded with ah neh foreigners. I have known,many cases where friends of friends are being recommended and hired from management level right down to lowest staff. Promotion opportunity also give own plp. Locals end up being minority in own bank, utterly disgraceful. No wonder dbs so many contract jobs all created for these peoplw until own local want find jobs also hard, need become,contract first. Really sad how a local bank can become an infestation ground for foreigners. These people they arent even productive, just going coffee breaks now and then.Thats why I rather not bank with dbs.

it seems like companies nowadays are getting stricter on hiring foreigners due to the fair consideration framework. I have a foreign friend who's having a hard time getting in banks as well even the contract or junior positions. Even getting an invite to interviews are hard as well according to her.
