Estimate your peak annual income
I find that this is a good way to exchange salary info with friends and relatives without revealing too much about one’s current salary.
It’s also less intrusive to ask someone to estimate his or her peak yearly earnings, than to outright ask about current pay, net worth, bank balance, etc. (Another good way is to ask about investments, eg how many properties, what shares, etc but I digress.) Ok, I’ll start the ball rolling by giving my own estimate and those estimates from my social circle: Middle manager in a small MNC 300k SQ pilot 400k Bank commercial loans 700k Treasury / potential CFO 500k Technology manager 300k Civil service, peaking at director level 270k (15k x 18 months) What’s your own estimate of your peak annual income? |
Your estimates don't make sense.
What the heck is a small MNC? If a company is a MNC, how can it be described as small in any sense? Keyword here is multi-national. Are you sure SQ pilots earn 400k per annum? Also if someone is earning more as a commercial loan banker than a CFO, how are you going to find anyone willing to fill the CFO post? |
He’s saying SQ pilots (likely captains) will peak at 400k. Not sure if expat not.
I’ve heard pilots make around 300k all in. There’s some ST article reporting some dispute between SIA and its pilots. I remember seeing some salary info in that article. |
From Straits Times 4 September 2018:
“The competition is tough: Hainan Airlines, for example, pays widebody aircraft captains up to $400,000 a year, tax-free. An SIA captain earns an average of $250,000, before tax.” |
