MTI Maintains 2018 GDP Growth Forecast at "2.5 to 3.5 Per Cent"

13 August 2018. The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) announced today that the GDP growth forecast for 2018 is maintained at "2.5 to 3.5 per cent”.

Economic Performance in Second Quarter 2018
The Singapore economy grew by 3.9 per cent on a year-on-year basis in the second quarter, easing from the 4.5 per cent growth in the previous quarter. On a quarter-on-quarter seasonally-adjusted annualised basis, the economy expanded at a slower pace of 0.6 per cent compared to the 2.2 per cent growth in the preceding quarter.

Before we start guessing or predicting the quantum, here the previous year data.
End of Year Bonus (on top of 13th month)
2015 - 0.65 month or a minimum of $1,000 (MTI forecast: 2%)
2016 - 0.5 month or a minimum of $900 (MTI forecast: 1 to 1.5%)
2017 - 1 month or a minimum of $1,800 (MTI forecast: 3 to 3.5%)

Doubt it'll be another 1 month this year even with similar forecast. Probably max 0.8 months. Will be announced end of Nov?

Announcement is usually towards end of November 2018.

Dont be sian. My company pays 5 to 13 months bonus. But restructuring all the time, hours are dependent on your department.

It may well be 1 month. Difficult to give less when they just gave out SG Bonus to all. 1 month to keep everyone quiet. >.<

hi guys, just wanted to check if i am joining in start of dec 2018 will I be entitled to the bonus? already signed contract and medical clearance, now just waiting to join stat board. thanks!

u might get 1/12 of the total bonus
