I actually found that some UOL/RMIT graduates work better and smarter than those from local universities. You would be surprised.

Thanks! They mostly asked me about my work experience (previous internships, and also about my current job since I graduated last year), leadership experience, and also my coding skills/experience. All in all quite chill, since they didn't throw any curve balls or try to grill me.

The very fact that DBS has to come up with a separate tech programme just to attract tech talent shows that they are unable to do so through their grad talent programme. At least DBS has its SEED to attract fresh CS grads (correct me if I'm wrong, but most of their SEED hires are not actually CS grads, but rather from somewhat similar fields like Information Systems). UOB and OCBC don't have a SEED equivalent. CS grads are on a totally different pay scale. GTP pays 4.4k for FCH. NUS/ NTU CS FCH grads probably command close to twice that amount.

DBS is mass hiring on SEED. Mostly non-CS STEM with a small number of CS grads. FCH CS folks most certainly don't go on to work in local banks.
Unfortunately I picked the wrong course to study (Chem Eng). Used to be straight As for cut off but now Bs and Cs. I'm now trying to pivot my way into tech given my STEM background. I've an FCH in 2 degrees (Chem Eng and biz) but I'm only making half of what the CS folks make. Such is life I suppose.
I have a friend who studied comp eng (2nd upper) and made a move to FB less than 1 year after graduation. She's getting 5 figures there as contract staff.
