I feel so jaded looking at my peers in foreign banks especially those in BBs.... got a friend in Citi who graduated the same time as me and in the same role. We started nearly 4 years ago at around the same pay, she is just a direct hire while I'm a so-called OCBC Young Banker. Today she's earning 25% more than me and her bonus this year is 4 months!! Mine was only 1.5... cray cray.....

I'm in a support unit department in Wholesale banking, junior lv position.
IMO, all these "graduate talent" programme means nth, just that you get a higher salary when starting out. Thats about it. The career progression after the programme ends depends on yourself. You get rotated to some departments, but they will generally ask you to do some saikang because they know you will eventually go back to your "home" department.

Would you mind to give us the range of the compensation after 4 years? It would be helpful for us to see whether this programme is worth a try. Thanks.

Not sure about the salary but the promotion wise is true.

If you get accepted into their GTP, you enter as associate, and subsequently promoted to assistant manager in your first year and manager in your second year, and you will get salary increment based on ur rank and dept. After a 2 to 3 years you are likely to be promoted to AVP, as I see from stalking a few people in linkedin who are in this program.

In comparison, you will only be promoted to associate after your 2nd year in DBS and senior associate in 3 to 5 years after thar, and this is similar for UOB too. So OCBC actually has an accelerated career pathway for those entering via GTP rather than direct hire.

Yep, that's what HR told me during the interview too. But UOB also has an accelerated path i think, but seems like their graduates in the MAP take a longer time reaching AVP level
