Anyone work with Optimum Solutions?
Hi,
I notice that this company has more than 85 job positings on jobsbank. Not even DBS, OCBC, UOB have that many.
Looks like this is a very good company to work for and there are good prospects for promotion as well.
Anyone work their?
Tnx,

I suggest you do a simple google search. Lots of info in the top hits to tell you what business this company is engaged in. Number of postings on jobsbank doesnt mean anything, especially if you are using it to compare with banks

Optimum solutions
Optimum solutions is a body shop meaning they are HR outsourcing company. They don't manage any projects. They hire and fire on behalf of client. I heard its pretty shady. They recently landed in soup because they don't hire enough Singaporeans. They hire people from India, China, Malaysia and place them here in banks.
Anyways their business model is very simple. If a client needs 8 people they will hire 12. 4 will be on bench and 8 will be live. If any performance drops in the 8 they will fire him/her and then place the bencher there. Normally they go based 1 year contract which some seriously shady clauses like if you go find another job you need to back pay 3 months pays etc.
The main risk is it that they will severely limit your chances of landing a decent perm jobs.
Good luck!

Optimum is a body shop. They hire and fire people as an outsourcing body. Recently they got a lot of roles open is because they are under scrutiny by MOM for not hiring enough Singaporeans.
They have some shady clauses. Beware they will ask you to pay back salary if you quit early on your contract so blow up the contract to a nice 14 font and double-triple check the contract before you sign the dotted line.
The main drawback is they will limit your chances of landing a decent perm job by severely constraining you contractually.

foreigner hiring is back
Hi,
I notice that many companies like Standard Chartered and JP Mogran are now able to hire foreigners by the planeload again.
Is the Jobsbank and "consider Singaporeans fairly" over?

Optimum does not contrainst anyone. They offer reasonable terms. If a person on the street willingly agrees to work with Optimum Solutions, who is to blame?

You only get paid if the client you are posted to has a project.
No project = no pay.
And if you quit, must pay penalty.
But if they don't want you, they can fire you without notice.
So you might be stuck for months with no pay and must pay a 'fine' if you want to look for other jobs.
Reasonable? LOL. In what universe?
