I feel it's really up to you. Whether u can afford to wait any longer for your desired job. If you know this job is not what u want, then keep looking. But if financially can't sustain then u should just take up the offer first. After u took up this job, can always take half/full day leave to go for interview.

Take this job first as a mean of providing some financial buffer
while u see if there r other options

Btw, your this 2nd option job is full time or contract?

This is exactly my situation a while ago.

I accepted an offer first, worked for nearly 2 months before switching.
While working, I went for a couple of interviews, secured a better one after a month.

i see, why did you accept your job offer? is it your first choice? is it awkward when you throw letter after just one month? how did you go interviews while working?

thanks! am still in dilemma if i should even accept it. if i accept, i know i will continue interviewing coz this is not my first choice and i do not see a long term career in it. the only reason i accept is so that i can earn money and not rot at home.

I can understand the TS feeling.

I myself also facing similar situation. I had 9 interviews in a row and had 2 offers currently. Rejected one , and the offer now was my 3rd choice.

No idea how to ask the 1st choice as they directly respond me to wait for 3 weeks to 1 month for the final.

Because I wasn't sure whether I will be able to get a better one (and having a huge gap is bad IMO) and the offer wasn't bad.
It was awkward because I was getting starting to get friendly with some of my colleague. My job was pretty flexible, lunch time etc, I also applied for leave.

You can drag longer before starting then go for more interviews.

It's a dilemma. It happened all the time, after you have accepted one offer and another better one come along. I always don't have the wisdom to choose the right one (banged head)!
