[Need advice] Job with top social media company but contract
Hi guys, I'm currently in a perm position as a junior analyst at a health care MNC. I got headhunted for a contract role in a social media company offering 70% more than my current drawn. It is a lateral move but the offering company and job scope is aligned with my goals and ambitions.
Would you worry about leaving a permanent role to join as a contractor?

I have no such experience but if I was you (being in a contract role before), I will say do your calculations well including the benefits and leave you get in the perm position vs contract role.
Contract role with the MNC or a contract agency hire? I believe it is the first right?
I will compare:
- the leaves (no. days)
- the benefits (flexi or whatever), insurance?, bonus?
Will the 70% increment be able to cover what you have?
If it is able, then the answer is clear to switch.
But if it is not, then it will depends on yourself. But I feel that for a perm to contract, gotta lower that expectations or you will feel gutted for making the switch.

no job is perm anymore.
there is no stigma to a contract job.
if you are good. at the end of contract they will retain you ( new contract or perm role)
if you are no good. even perm job they will manage you out.
congrats. 70% up is fantastic

What sort of "social media company" though? I mean if it is Facebook, it might be very good experience even if it is just contract. However, if it is small social media agency, then maybe it's not that wise to move?
