It may be true. My good friend with about ten years in insurance earns a quarter million last year. He says life is hard in the early years. (But what job isn't?)

It sound too goood to be true
with 10 yrs exp, earning 250k , how can a person with 4 ~5 yrs exp getting 300k pa. Really so lucrative? If so good income, they wouldn't even need to spend money to set up booth to recruit ppl to join them, all ppl will be quening to join their company. I am not being cynlical, i believe there are ppl in this indutries earning this amount, but only very very few, most are not earning no more than an average wage earner. Can someone in this industries shed light on this matter.

During my uni days, I tried being an insurance agent. But I didnt do well and quit after 2 years, selling just 3 policies to my close friends who bought just to support me.
I just cant stand being treated like dirt/disease at MRTs and calling friends to meet up (you will realise your friends will start ignoring your calls) etc. Its not easy and clearly not suited for my personality.
There are pple who do well in insurance and btw when they mention they are million dollar roundtable awardees, that doesnt mean they earn a million dollars. Its just that their sales hit a certain level.
I would say a normal insurance agent probably earns like 5k a month and real good and hardworking onces can hit 10k. The earnings are clearly seasonal meaning there are good and bad months.
But dont forget the numerous hard-work/weekends/holidays burnt. If your personality suits outdoor sales, you can handle nasty rejections and look, and you are dying to make lots of money, then do it.
Otherwise, join me, forget it and move on...
