I actually took quite a few cs courses back in uni and I then self learnt online (Mug leetcode), joined hackathon and online competition like kaggle, shopee coding challenge etc. Also managed to build some portfolio in my work and spare time..
Some people do masters; i didnt its expensive and time consuming

Yeah have no plans to enter the construction industry. Previously I took a summer intern at a main contractor company just to gain more exposure, wow the people there are really under paid + overworked. Maybe that explains why there are mostly foreigners there.
Btw, how you switch over to the tech industry? I am keen in joining but my major is mech engg so I don’t know if there’s much relevance there. Would appreciate any advise. I’ll be graduating next year.

Answered it in my previous post.
Nothing to worry about relevance.. i was in civil also which isnt too relevant.. you can try to relate your final year study/research or whatever with tech related subject (data science for example). Also in your case it may be wise to take a few cs related courses.. and maybe try to get another tech related internship before you graduate. If you have the luxury of time and funding, consider taking a cs minor even tho you may need to delay ur graduation by another year. But trust me, the benefit is worth it
